“I bought both the Raspbian and XBMC preinstalled cards. After some time I got sound from the XBMC but still not a peep from the Raspbian. Something is not right with my setup for Raspbian also upgrading gives error, pipe broken at the instant when newer Perl version ought to be installed. The XBMC set at 'analog' gave sound output from my speaker equipped LCD-monitor. Tested several different sources and they worked at once. The Raspian needs more 'tweeking' I suppose. “OpenElec and XBMC as a combination are very impressive. It really is amazing just how people the world over have transformed a very simple piece of tech (Raspberry Pi) into a fine tuned Religion. It's capabilities are getting more and more impressive as the public reveals their own contribution on what to do with a Pi. The preconfigured card is a great help to those not to techy. I have one Pi under the car and another almost ready to fit my Pi-car. I have been working a few weeks now on it with WiFi, hub, Bluetooth, rear view camera, rear view LCD clip over (on existing rear view mirror), Bluetooth Car head unit and a 350GB hard drive to link to indoors router and or hot spot.
