“I have a couple of headless RPI 3Bs around my house doing various jobs but this the first with a keyboard form factor. Have to say I really like it and feel it will get a lot more use as a email/web computer and also help me get better at using Linux. The performace of this unit is superb and noticably faster than the old models. Great Build quality as has always been the case with RPIs. Like that you can boot from USB thumb drive now which means I can easily swap in new environents. In short, a great little computer and fantasic value for money”

“Came preinstalled with a micro SD so basically plugged it in and was ready to connect and use, perfect I bought it with a monitor and PSU but forgot to buy a pi mouse to complete the set All lloks great except a black mouse dosnt look the part, will sort that shortly along with a white hdmi to micro hdmi that I didnt get when I ordered the rest Would really look right when thats sorted”

“I needed to use my old Pi4B to run Home assistant so decided to get a new Pi for basic home computing. To keep the desk tidy I opted for the Pi500 which is an ideal solution. It's very good value and works out the box. It's an ideal solution if you have a limited budget and space.”

“The Pi Hut delivered my Raspberry Pi 500 promptly, and I have enjoyed playing with the Raspbian operating system out of the box. It boots smoothly and the operating system(s) are, of course, infinitely customisable.”

“I have a couple of raspberry pi 5 and 4, used all for projects and purchased the 500 for a basic desktop use. Overall all good with one annoying flow. The keyboard is much flimsier than anticipated, when started keying the middle of the keyboard bends so much, thought I should have gon for classic set-up.”

“Lovely piece of kit. Works well and seems faster and more responsive than the 400. Able to use my Raspberry Pi OS (Bookworm) and Ubuntu Arm 24.04 LTS from my 400 machine. with no trouble. However please note, if you are thinking of using another ARM OS directly swapped from your 400 - they may not work. At the time of writing, please be aware that the following do not work on my new 500 yet: notably Manjaro, Twister, Debian, MX Linux, Raspberry Pi OS (Bulls Eye/Buster), Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, Chromium OS, POP! OS, Kali, Fedora, Fyde OS and OpenSUSE- in case you were to use them. I appreciate that it is early days, but I am looking forward to getting them all working on the new 500 in the future. My 2025 project. Please note that this review is purely an observation and not a criticism of the 500, which as I said above is a lovely piece of kit...”
