“Works well, not noisy. When running the stress test it keeps the Pi from thermal throttling. At idle the temperature (vcgencmd) is 46C and fan off. Incidentally, I have a USB desk fan 10cm in diameter with which I cool a stack of different Pi versions and when that is running the Pi 5 idle temp falls to 25C, room temp 18C. So I think that the heatsink portion of the active cooler may benefit from a larger diameter fan if there is a future revision.”
“Works great. It uses the new, dedicated connector on the board, rather than the GPIO ports. Not too loud, cheap, and usually not on, as it's only triggered for heavy loads. Great!”
“I bought a dedicated cooler for the 5 and my first response was how small it was but it is so perfect for the 5. At present it hardly moves the fan, only at boot up and it's so quite when it runs. Perfect partner.”
