Having problems with RPi5 going over 70C running in official case with fan so bought the Active Cooler. After purchase I read that it will not fit over the heat sink that comes with the official hardware. Tried removing it but bricked my RPi5 so had to buy another. Pity there was not a work around as these cases and fans are, allegedly Pi approved, so lost one star. New Pi now running as previously in official case with Nvme hat and active cooler 24/7 extracting api data into MySQL which also stores qtr hourly cpu temperatures. So I have data to compare: Mean, Max Legacy was 54.28, 71.23 Latest is 45.87, 50.70 Ambient external temperatures before and after were close. Speaks for itself dropping the mean cpu temperature has dropped 8.5C and the max 20.5C but more importantly with less fluctuation so more in control. Lesson, if you buy the official case that comes with a fan and heatsink do not fit either. Purchase the Active Cooler. One last word, I have to praise the PiHut for admin and efficiency. Immediate acknowledgement of both orders and very fast dispatch during working hours (I ordered the Pi at the weekend and advised of dispatch Monday a.m.). Courier is Royal Mail and arrives extremely well packaged. So thanks PiHut.

Hope this one lasts longer than the last which was about 17 months before it started making noise whilst running. Apart from that, easy to install and works immediately in relation to the pi5 temps.

Really easy to fit (just remember the header on the RPi board has a cover over it!) and good for keeping your power apps cool :-)

A Cool Customer for a Cooler Cooler Looking for a way to keep your Raspberry Pi cooler than a penguin in an igloo? Look no further! The Raspberry Pi active cooler I recently snagged from The Pi Hut is everything I didn’t know I needed. Installation was so smooth that I swear my Pi started purring with happiness (although it could’ve just been the fan kicking in). As someone who treats their Raspberry Pi like it’s the crown jewel of the tech world, overheating was my sworn nemesis. But now, thanks to this miracle of modern cooling technology, my Pi runs so cool it might start asking for a blanket soon. And if you're worried about noise, don’t be! This thing is quieter than a cat tiptoeing past a sleeping dog. But wait, there's more! I have to give a shoutout to The Pi Hut itself. Every single one of my purchases from them has been fantastic—each one delivered faster than me deciding I need another Raspberry Pi accessory (which is very fast). Next day delivery? Check. Phenomenal customer service? Double check. I’m starting to think they might employ actual wizards back there. And as if this experience couldn’t get better, submitting this very review means I’m entered into the glorious £50 monthly draw. A random winner every month? Yes, please! Fingers crossed, because I already have my eye on some more Pi-tastic goodies. In short, I’m one very happy cooler owner and even happier Pi Hut customer. If you’re looking to keep your Pi cool while staying cool yourself, this is the cooler for you. And hey, who knows? Maybe next month, I'll be shopping with my £50 prize. One can dream!

Very good, keeps temperature well under 50°C, and easy to install. A tad noisy but that is not a concern for me as I stacked my Pi into my rack

Arrived a bit late owing to a Royal Mail error: was sent to Oxfordshire and then sent back to Wiltshire. Not the fault of Pi Hut. I don't know whether they take up those kind of errors with the carriers. Otherwise the Active Cooler is fine and working as expected.
