“It is basically just an upgrade from the Pi 4 I have already and am very happy with.
Only four issues I can think of, and my comments on them.
No line out socket - but I plugged in a USB sound card and now have both line in and line out. Obviously you can also use bluetooth too.
My monitor has hdmi but no speakers. Same fixes as for the Pi 4 - use a buetooth speaker or headphones.
The really nice cases are advertised at very good prices now, but not when I ordered my Pi. I will end up having nice case and two heat sinks I will not need when I buy the nice case.
Raspbian works well with both 4 and 5, but you have to install Gnome over the LXDE desktop version. Installing on the command line version did not work for me because I could not get the x versions of the desktop appear in the list of desktops
Other operating systems for Pi 4 don't work on Pi 5. And I had a problem with Armbian and Ubuntu on the Pi 5 I am still working on fixing.”
