“Fast, cheap, flexible and with mounting holes to make really cute laser-cut cases.
The only drawback is the odd feeling of having a board that is impossible to handle without touching the castellated conductors all around the edge. Just have to trust that the pins have strong enough static hardening.”
“The RP2040 is incredibly powerful compared to what I used many years ago (Z80 and 8051), which I programmed in assembler and C. And yet cheap enough to use as a dedicated logic unit for simple functions. MicroPython is my first experience of object-oriented programming, and it's a challenging change of mindset (at my age anyway) - there's a lot to take in - Python, Micro-Python and the RP2040 itself. But then the GPIO processors use a simple assembly language, which looks interesting and useful.”
“Picked this up to play around with a poor-mans Rubber Ducky / Bad USB. Worked a treat and proved and effective way of demonstrating USB related cyber risks to my counterparts at work. Not planned anything else yet, but loads of potential.”
