“Replaced an existing pick configured to do the same job. Worked straight out of the box. Only issue previously I used the power from the pick acting as the probe. Now I need an extra usb cable.”
“One can build a Debug Probe with just a Pico board, but if a practical version is desired (that is, with wires, status LED indicators, and a case) the price would increase and close to the Debug ProbeĀ“s. So the price is reasonable.
Just tested the Debug Probe for a few days, it worked at once and no problems since then.
Delivery was OK, according to the times indicated on the web page.”
“This is a great addition - and I use it all the time even when not debugging - as its a fast way to flash the pico from the ide without having to reset it all the time - just one button press from visual studio code. Worth it for this feature alone.
I found the documentation lacking though - especially for windows users - pihuts guides was out of date - all the ocd etc files needed to get it to work are provided in the official sdk now - you dont need the complex recompile of the debug tools the documentation suggests. Docking a star as its so much harder to setup than it should be.
Todate - I still cannot find any one guide that shows how to use this device with the official c pico (baremetal) sdk (*not Arduino libraries mode - I need baremetal*) with platformio ide - I got something mostly working with just VisualStudioCode, just not platformio - but it was a complex setup and .pio files are still an issue - if anyone knows of a guide please send on. thanks :)”
