“Great bit of kit, still not used it to its potential but very neat overall package and everything required in one box. Very tidy package, okay bit bigger than the standalone Raspberry Pi unit but so convenient to use for development to be used in standalone pi later.”

“I have only had this kit a couple of weeks, so still getting used to it. I am new to the Pi world, but have often used Linux on other devices. The Pi 400 is well made and (with a couple of reservations) very well thought out. I got it up and running straight away, using an old 17" monitor as a display. It is very quick to boot up or shut down, and most apps open quickly too. Impressive performance. Overall, a very good and accessible way into the Pi and Linux world.
I have two negative points. The absence of audio jacks for speakers or a microphone is a major oversight. I have managed to connect it to a portable speaker via bluetooth, but I do think this is a shortcoming in the design. The second complaint is common to many Linux devices, the technical difficulty of getting it to talk to a printer. I have installed CUPS and other software, but I cannot persuade it to connect to any of the three printers I have available.
In summary, a great little machine, but version 2 ought to address the sound issue, and if the software team could come up with a printing solution 'out of the box' that, too, would be a winner.”
