“wish there was an 8GB version, and would be nice to be able to specify a larger SD card than the one supplied, but otherwise a very nice "just add a monitor" getting started pack that doesn't mean mucking about getting other bits.
the included book is good as well, harks back to the old 8 bit days in terms of providing actual useful information in a readable way”
“Lovely bit of kit and the bundle I bought got me up and running really easily.
As an OG Amiga user from back in the day my main intention for this was ofc to emulate Amiga for nostalgia and reasons, I recommend PImiga 1.5 all the Amiga you could want in one download.
Anyway suffice to say this kit does what I wanted it to and much more besides, coming with everything you need to get started I can attest to what a large rabbit hole the PI is.
I would say that the addon on/off switch cable should really be included in the starter kit imho but really that is just nitpicking, it was not a problem and it is very cheap anyway.
It has already had me buying more sd cards and I am building a small collection of OS on sd to swap about and investigate. PImiga/Retropie/Raspbian/Twister OS etc all great fun.
Wish I had had this at the very beginning of lockdown I don't think I would have noticed the time dragging at all then.”
“Very compact and easy to set up, easy to navigate and use for my teenagers studying. Fact it’s portable means it’s perfect for when he’s staying with his dad too. We added the power cable and have set up with the hanspree monitor also sold by pi.hut to make a instant access bundle. Delivery was quick and efficient via courier within 48hours too”
“Excellent, so compact, versatile and comprehensive. Perhaps should provide a wireless mouse to decrease wiring. That's what I did, this gives more space for using sense hat and electronic circuits on breadboard. No sound port so I will have to get a monitor with integrated speakers but not a problem. Overall a great piece of kit and I am enjoying using the manual greatly.
I have also used the pi in conjunction with the Freenove Electronics kit which has been enjoyable.”
