The card is very easy to setup using the online tutorial (it requires some extra drivers), and after five minutes it was up and running using Python. I am now using it to do some environmental metric logging and expanding the sense-hat library to allow me to display text on two lines... This card is a must have for someone who wants to begin experimenting with sensors :)

Having had the opportunity to use the Astro-Pi HAT last term in school I will say this is an awesome RaspberryPi addon. Apart from great resources and support from the foundation - the amount of sensors on the Sense HAT is incredible. Sourcing these sensors and components alone would probably set you back £80 alone - never mind assembly and wiring up to the Pi - very happy to have my own Sense HAT now !!

This board was originally used for the AstroPi Competition. My son was the KS3 year group and his program is going to the ISS in December. The Sense Board allows you to combine all of the sensors and the LED Display to program almost any experiment or project you can imagine. I would recommend this board to anyone wanting to use environment sensors within their project. The Display allow you to use the built-in alphabet/numbers or build your own. You can get two lines of text on the 8x8 display and provide feedback within your project.

This board was originally used within the AstroPi Competition. My son won the KS3 entry and also 'Best Measurement' category for his project. His code is going to the ISS in December. I would recommend this HAT to anyone who is looking to use Environment sensors within their project. You even get a 8x8 RGB Display to output your results or messages. You can use the built-in Alphanumeric Library or write your own, you can comfortably get four characters on the display across two line. This is a single HAT that combines so many sensors and features that you can put them together within almost any type of project.
