“I like the new A+ for stand alone/headless projects where high performance and low power consumption is a must. The single USB is more than made up for by the on-board WiFi and BluTooth. For when you need to connect to a monitor, the full-sized HDMI is ideal and for development, a combined wireless keyboard/mouse combination is all that is required to give full functionality.”

“I bought this to lower power requirements on a robotic project that runs off batteries. The 3A+ draws less power than the 3B+ and even less if you disable the HDMI. Works great and the smaller footprint it a great bonus although it is at the cost of USB ports.”
