“Great a playing back h265 content even with software decoding overclock no longer needed using OSMC also good with wireless now it support wifi AC 5Ghz”
“Only observation you need a decent power supply. Don't rely on power from a standard USB port but use the recommended power supply.
Impressive performance.”
“The board is new. You'll need a true 2.5amp PSU for it, and I fitted some heatsinks. At the moment there is a lack of support from 3rd parties as the underlying Rasbian OS and Linux need updating to run on the board. That is the only downside and one which will quickly disappear.
The wifi and blue tooth are improved, but be aware, you need to set the country code in some cases. I had projects where I was having to look at other SBCs as the previous PI had reached an upper limit on performance. This bump is enough to keep my projects on the PI.
Recommended. 4 stars until the software and 3rd parties get sorted, then it would be 5.
Thanks to the PI hut as ever for their most helpful and friendly service!”
“It's nice to finally see faster ethernet. It's not a gigabit Ethernet yet but considering the board launched at the same price as the RPI3 it's a most welcomed addition. Bear in mind that PoE pins may not be compatible with all cases. Mine sports a cover plate for electronic and pins are getting in the way.”
