An excellent addition with 802.11ac and gigabit connectivity tho thruput still limited to 300Mbit due to being connected via usb2.0 bus which is a pity, better cooling of cpu due to this package having a heatshield, this is still helped if a heatsink is installed. Better placement of the wireless adapter means less likelyhood of the adapter being damaged during installation of the RaspberryPi case. Overall tho at the same price as the previous model make this a good purchase.

Only observation you need a decent power supply. Don't rely on power from a standard USB port but use the recommended power supply. Impressive performance.

The board is new. You'll need a true 2.5amp PSU for it, and I fitted some heatsinks. At the moment there is a lack of support from 3rd parties as the underlying Rasbian OS and Linux need updating to run on the board. That is the only downside and one which will quickly disappear. The wifi and blue tooth are improved, but be aware, you need to set the country code in some cases. I had projects where I was having to look at other SBCs as the previous PI had reached an upper limit on performance. This bump is enough to keep my projects on the PI. Recommended. 4 stars until the software and 3rd parties get sorted, then it would be 5. Thanks to the PI hut as ever for their most helpful and friendly service!
