Bought for my sons 8th birthday and wanted to create a retropie console for him which i did (in the end). But because the pi 3b+ is pretty new still all the apps/programs/tools are beta or not ready yet and some parts dont work well yet (wifi on jessie wifi on retropie) so if you want a retropie console fully working go for any pi lower than 3b+ for the next few months, by summer 2018 the coders will have caught up.

Pi 3B+ was as expected, more of the same goodness only better, improved thermal management / clock and improved NIC are the wins for me. From the PiHut perspective what can I say, next day delivery on the initial order and they dispatched an exchange replacement Pi promptly when the first one arrived with a soldering / construction issue. The only slight sadness from my perspective was no offer to cover my return postage on the faulty item.

The update to the 3B+ is well worth while and adds a nice speed increase to the Pi.

Brilliant! I had already flashed an USB stick so it was up and running in 15 minutes. I have it connected directly per Ethernet and the increase in speed is noticeable. It's running at about 55 degrees, which is fine. Wonderful incremental upgrade to the 3B. I love the case too, ingenious design.

Nothing groundbreaking over the the original Pi3 here (notable sticking points are the 1Gb RAM, the same old USB2 bus, and still 32bit raspbian), but improved thermal management of the SoC has managed to get even more performance out of the machine. This is still the best value small computer platform. I use mine for Amiga Emulation.

I love the new Raspi. I’m using mine for Octoprint with my CR-10 and also a VPN server running PiVPN and finally it runs Homebridge to add some of my non Apple HomeKit products to the Home App. It handles all of this flawlessly!
