“My fifth Pi is a zero with WiFi.
This one is going to be the brains behind a hexapod, controlled (at least in theory) by a bluetooth gamepad.
If you don't need the performance of a Pi3, but you do want the wireless, then a Pi Zero W is the answer.
The price increase for Wifi is high, and it would be nice if there was a zero available that had more performance (but that would be a new SKU, because you wouldn't want to remove the SKU that used the least power, so probably not viable).”
“Took me a little while (and a couple of more cables) to get used to the zero but it is really good! I use it as my "mucking about board" but I might give it a full time occupation as my speaker pi.”
“Pi Zero is a good system. You can use it for many things, like playing games or programming. It's a joy to use if you've got a decent HDMI screen with sound. I had lots of fun trying out different programs, emulators and other good stuff.
If you want to try and make a handheld console like I do, then getting decent sound through the GPIO pins is a convoluted pain in the butt.
For making me do all that extra work to get the audio at a reasonable level and quality I removed one star.
Other than that little annoyance, it's a good little system and the onboard wifi can really come in handy :)”
“Excellent little device. I added a pi cam v2, original pi zero case, loaded a sd card with motioneyeos and wireless settings and it now functions as a security cam.”
“I wanted to play around with different things and the Raspi 0 is really a good match thanks to its size and amazing capacities, from Wifi to HDMI and easy to use GPIO, it packs everything in a really small form factor. I'm pleased.”
