“I'm very pleased with the Raspberry Pi 5. At work i was frustrated with the Microsoft environment, in retirement I chose Apple which I find quite confining. So the RaspPi and Linux I have found liberating and intellectually challenging. I am making progress with support from the many websites and two textbooks.
The computer itself is fast and flexible. I am currently using it to convert some audio CDs to mp3 format, a process which it seems to accomplish more efficiently than my MacBook. Future projects, webcam, media centre? Plenty to choose from and to keep me busy and challenged.”

“The instructions were comprehensive and they explained everything I could have wanted, both "how to assemble" and "how to write Python code." Maybe a circuit diagram or two would have been helpful (but I'm an electronics nerd)?
The downside is that the hardware was a bit tricky to assemble (the leads fitting in the breadboard and those darned switches).
So this sounds like a 1 or 2 stars out of 5, but I've omitted that most important bit. It was entertaining. The end of each day had a satisfying result an was fun to do.
Next year I'll be buying Kit 2”
