“Having used an older Pi years ago as a media centre that I found slow and frustrating I decided having read reviews of the 3+ to give it a go. £60 ish for the media centre set up was resonable with the addition od a Logitec wireless combined keyboard/mouse the whole set up was ideal.
Rather than use the OS and Kodi that came on the SD along with Noobs I reformated the SD and installed Librelec with Kodi Leia, this turned out to be a great choice, I've never had a problem with this set up and the transfer from my NAS (via home wired LAN) is seamless and faultless i have over 1,000 movies in ISO format on it!, the system has been set up to boot stright into Kodi and my panasonic TV remote worked with the Pi stright from the box, the keyboard is very rearly needed. The Pi runs cool with not much processor load and there is very little noticeable difference between this set up and my Intel NUC I use on my main TV. Indeed if the NUC ever packed up I would go stright for the same set up £60 against the £300 I payed for the NUC is a no brainer.
Probably the best media centre you can have, and very best value for money.”
“I was expecting an SD card as in the photo of the item on the Pihut website. In actual fact, the item came with a MicroSD card. It was so small and I was expecting a SD card, then the MicroSD was tiny, and I didn't notice it.
Then I told PiHut, they send me a new card, and ONLY THEN did I spot the item in the tiny antistatic bag. I sent the replacement card back.

I have purchased this to control my astrophotography gear and it works a treat.
It would have been nice to have had a choice of case colour as white is easier to see at night but that was not possible.
