“Decided to give a Pi a go to see what they were like and to learn with my son about what they can do and how they can be used. Absolutely brilliant. They can be used as a pretty capable desktop, which my son thinks is brilliant, and there are loads of games he enjoys too, but he also dabbles from time to time with the various programming software on it. Result! Now I want to get some project kits.”
“First time user of a Pi - great little device. The supplied case doesn't seem to allow the SD card to fit in well, plus the 4 seems to run quite hot so bought the heatsink case and have left it under the aircon.
Delivery was super quick too - ended up buying another two for various work projects!”
“Bought it to help teach my daughter Linux and infosec. Perfect, installed Kali Linux and happily working away.
Would be 5 stars however, the board has a habit of getting very hot. Going to add a case with a fan so that should sort it out.”
“Early days, but it is up and running. Am a fugitive from latest Apple OS and prices. If I am going to have to learn new things with a system that has lots of bells and whistles I do not want, I might as well learn something simpler at a fraction of the cost! It was far harder beginning to learn how to use a Smart TV bought a few days earlier, for which there was only abysmal online help. So far a very positive experience.”
“The bundle itself is good, contains most of what you need to get started.
I would say that the Pi4 really needs cooling. It runs hot -- much hotter that previous Pis -- even when idling. There's a small fan available that does the job for about €2.50, but you'll need to modify the case (i.e. drill dirty great holes in it) to use them both.
Once your cooling is sorted out it's all really nice =-)”
