“Cannot find limits to what the RPi can do:
Started with solar hot water system data logger in Python.
Then 1. Converted to Java and added controller functionality.
2. Installed database on RPi to store temperature etc data.
3. Added web access to 'loggercontroller'.
This progression was incredibly painless without any showstoppers to work around. To be honest I expected to fail or to create something clunky that needed constant nursing but each step seemed to progress naturally. Loggercontroller has been running for several years and has never crashed even though the database has grown to gigabytes - thanks to the RPi and Java.”
