I'm in Montreal (Canada) and feared about the shipping. But the shipping was very fast (just under a week). Also, my kit was missing the two micro SD cards, an within day, new ones were on their way. What a great customer service.

“This kit really has all you need to get started with a Raspberry Pi - provided you have a keyboard/mouse and a display, preferably HDMI. The build quality of the Pi is excellent,especially considering the price, and the case may not be sexy see-through but does what is needed. Software load no problem and away you go. Surprisingly neat and capable. Now the fun can start, with the I/O signals available and the control opportunities available. This takes me back to my early pre PC days in process control engineering. We'd have given a king's ransom for something like this......

“I needed a Linux platform to run as a 7x24 data logger with power consumption way below a traditional 'tower' PC. The Pi 2B starter kit contained everything I needed and worked flawlessly as described and expected! One of the apps I wanted to run (MRTG) is only available as C source code and I was a little worried it would be difficult to compile and build an executable. Other than negotiating some undocumented updates to libraries that have occurred since the app instructions were written it all worked first time without drama. Perfect and satisfying project.
