“My SD card could not boot with NOOBS when I used it for the first time (btw, the card is just floating in the cardboard box, it could very easily be lost). I had to reformat it to install an OS on my Rpi.
You really need an additional ribbon cable and header (called cobbler on makersify for instance)( preferrably + a breadboard) to be able to use the GPIO ports. Otherwise, they are not identified with a tag on the Rpi.”
