“Bought this starter kit as I needed most of what is included and you don't have to worry about forgetting something. The bonus of finding a USB C plug and DC 5.5mm/2.1mm plug in PiHut made my project of a digital picture frame a lot easier.
The USB C plug was to provide 5VDC to the Raspberry Pi 4
The DC 5.5mm/2.1mm plug was to provide 12VDC to a 24" Monitor.
These two plugs were wired to a combined 12VDC 3A and 5VDC 3A power supply.”
“I bought a RPi 4 1Gb kit to replace my original RPi model B. I had not realised how slow the original model B was or should I say how fast the new RPi 4 is.
I use the RPi as a Proxy Server using Squid. I have built a hardware watchdog using a PIC processor which monitors a heartbeat from the RPI and attempts an orderly shutdown followed by a restart should the heartbeat be missing. This allows unattended high reliability.”
