“I bought this to expand my storage capacity in my Rpi5 based Jellyfin server. I also bought a Pimoroni case. I have just finished assembling it into the case with two 1tb nvme m.2 drives and my Rpi5. The quality seems quite high, and the online instructions were very helpful too. Good news, the server booted up first time and it's working flawlessly. Overall I'm delighted with my new board. Well made, works perfectly and the delivery was fast too. Excellent value for money.”
“To begin with, I was a little worried as there wasn't any printed instructions included, but then there's no need when you can visit the site. I was already using a NVME m.2 base board with a 1tb Sabrent RKT. I had a second drive spare and formatted ready to go. It was easy to install and was working on first boot. I'm fairly new to using a raspberry pi, but have built many windows pc's so I was relieved it was so easy. I have my Pi5 running Casa OS and Jellyfin and i'm delighted I now have 2tb of accessible space to use. Easy, well made and effective.”
“Product is good, although it took 12 days to be delivered as Pi Hut->Evri insist on a signature so any delivery instructions placed when ordering at Pi Hut such as 'please leave in porch' are completely ignored and Evri do not support redirection to a local collection point. This package was easily small enough to put through the letter box or leave in porch - really annoying and will source elsewhere next time”
“GOOD:
Works great with 2x Samsung 990 Evo+ 2TB. Overall an awesome HAT.
I use it mounted on top of the Pi, not on the bottom, because the PCIE flex cable blocks the SD card slot if you mount it on the bottom. However when mounted on top, it gets more heat from the Pi running underneath it, so it's a tradeoff.
BAD:
I have two minor complaints:
- The two power LEDs for the two SSDs are way too bright
- Would be great if they also sent a longer PCIE flex cable included (they sell them separately)”
“This board is great for all sizes of M.2 SSDs and I have used 2282 and 2230 with success. I leave the second slot free for future use. I han't tried it yet, but I think there is room for a thin heatsing to be attached to a NVMe memory card as some can get too hot in intensive computing operations.”
