“Good case, quite minimalist and flexible as a result of its layered design.
Not the fault of the case itself, but in my use case I was hoping it would fit on the vertical NAS bracket I purchased at the same time, it does fit, but its not perfect (I took a chance, completely my own fault)
If I were to make a suggestion for any possible future design revisions, it would be to provide an option that uses the existing mounting holes on the Raspberry Pi board to secure the layers, it would have meant I could secure the Pi to the NAS frame with some long screws using all the layers instead of having to remove the bottom two layers.
I really like the minimalist design, and the cutouts are all very clean and precise, in my scenario the 'middle' layers are warping a bit because I had to remove the two bottom layers that probably added structural strength (again this might not have been an issue if the existing holes on the board were used as the PCB would have acted as extra reinforcement)
Great case though! The separate Heatsink I bought as well fits perfectly :)”
“Overall pretty good, but could be better. The thin tongue of plastic around the camera socket was too close and broke off (doesn't affect anything). The GPIO pin numbers formed in to the surface are helpful but could be filled with paint to make them stand out as visible.”
“A couple of quibbles. The hole in the top layer over the CPU could be a little bigger to aid cooling. The hole over the chip on the right of the top cover is misplaced for a Pi3B. It could have been made so as to suit the Pi3B and Pi3B+.
Apart from that, it's fine. It protects the board from dust and things dropped, makes it easier to handle and gives a useful amount of weight. It's much better than having a bare board.”
