Small downside is the restricted access to the GPIO pins, but it depends of what you're going to do with your Raspberry.
The RGB is not addressable; it just goes from one colour to the next and the fan doesn't have PWM.
I removed the LEDs (not a big fan of rgb stuff) and added a PWM controll with a transistor. The PWM works as expected but when it's not at 100% it's a bit noisy but nothing too bad.”
