“Really nice, good quality case. After reading about how hot the pi4 gets, I wanted to buy a case that also cooled. The whole case gets warm in use, but I've had no issues at all and my pi4 is overclocked to 2Ghz using a retropie image for the pi4, plus it's very strong in construction and have had no issues with WiFi signal using ssh to transfer files from my PC.”
“This case looks and feels great. Super easy to assemble and very easy to access your Pi after it is snug inside. More expensive than some cases but worth it if your Pi is to be on display.”
“I gave this together with a Pi 4 as a Christmas gift to my husband and this is his review:
I have two Pi 4s and have used both the Flirc case and now the Argon Neo case, but in my view the Argon Neo is probably the best Pi 4 case out there.
I prefer to passively cool my Raspberry Pis if possible, and in that regard both the Flirc case and the Argon Neo do a good job - but the Argon Neo does a slightly better job because it cools both the SOC and the RAM.
However, the really big improvement is regarding access to the Pis internal interface ports:
Once closed, the Flirc case does not provide access to the internal ports unless you are prepared to connect ribbon cables to the internal ports and feed these out through the slot at the bottom of the case (which would be rather messy).
In contrast, the Argon Neo has a magnetically attached top that can be slid off to provide full access to the internal ports while still providing passive cooling. With its top on, the Argon Neo is a very attractive and compact aluminium "desktop" case, but when required the top can be slid off in order to provide access to any of the internal interface ports (including the PoE pins).
There was a small quality control issue with the product I received in that when I first slid the top off, the two circular magnets that hold it closed came away from the lid. They were clearly glued to the lid and the glue had failed for some reason - but a dab of super glue on each magnet fixed the problem, so I didn't feel that merited a reduction in the product's rating.”
