“I don't normally leave reviews but here we go...
Impulse buy, needed a better case for rpi5 and nvme ssd and saw Black Friday discount so took a punt.
Excellent little case, all screws fine, only difficulty was fitting the ribbon cable between the two boards with my sausage fingers and poor eyesight.
Buy it.”
“Excellent case would be a 5/5 however one of the screws is too short so keeps falling out. Have 2 of these case and issue is same on both. But remaining 3 screws enough to keep it together”
“As documented on various forums, the supplied screws are too short. Spoke to Argon themselves and they have advised they should have supplied M2.5 x 9mm (4) instead of M2.5 x 6mm. Fan is noisy due to the type of bearing used.”
“Very well made, great design. Only flaw is you have to take it apart to get the card in/out, not so much if you are booting from the ssd.
Runs cool, with little fan, much faster boot etc. So far best case I have found.”
“This has the potential to be an excellent Pi5 case with the inclusion of NVMe support. However, it currently has a couple of significant flaws. The termal pads supplied were not thick enough to fill the space between the SOC and heatsink. With the case assembled there was a small air gap into which could easily slide a strip of paper. This meant the heatsink was ineffective and I had to use a section of the SSD thermal pad to 'double up' and fill the gap. Also two of the screws supplied to attach the base to the case were too short. I fixed this by countersinking the bottom of the screw holes in the plastic base by 1 mm. Just enough to get the screw to engage. However, this kind of adaptation should not be necessary on a properly engineered product. That said, the case is working well and I'm happy with the rest of the product in terms of its function.”
“Easy to set, if a little fiddly. Worthwhile buying this unit as I have ended up with a very robust product for little more than the cost of buying a cooler, nvme Hat and case.”
