“So I purely bought this for being able to use heat set inserts in my 3d prints......to start. Famous last words.
Great device, priced more competitively than a forest based shopfront, from a great company I'm happy to order from. Delivery was on point as per usual and I've been having a lot of fun. Easy to use and loads of tutorials and guides online too.
Only thing pihut......would be great to have heat set insert tips / attachements for this as a pack for different sizes. I've found using the included tip just fine, but would have totally ordered that from you too if I could have.”
“My Collegue bought his 2 years ago, he has not changed the tip yet, and is still mint.
I am impressed as we solder allot of cables, plugs etc.
I don't recommend throwing it in a case with other tools to be bashed around.
Find or get yourself a nice pouch and a strong USB C adaptor to go with it and you are set. GRADE A PRODUCT love it.”
“The soldering iron arrived on time & well packed. The TS101 product lived up to the reviews, I used it straight away with great results. I recommend this product to anyone who solders small components. You will need to ensure you've read the power requirements as the bundle I purchased did not come with a PSU or other alternative power source like USB special high powered powerbank. However the price was really good from the Pi Hut lowest across my internet search, so I choose not to buy one a PSU. I used my USB C laptop charger as the soldering iron has a PD (USB C) 9-45W. You can also use a traditional DC round jack plug PSU 9V-24V (65W). I 3D printed a case to hold the TS101 foam insert that came with the soldering iron, this worked well and saved on creating the inner storage slots. 5 out of 5 stars.”
“Great product, easy to use and works with the usb-c pc charger I have so nothing else needed to get it working - went up to 300 degrees c in a hand full of seconds and ready to use.”
“I like what I've seen so far in learning to use this device. The iron itself responds as described and seems likely to fulfill its potential as I become familiar with the appropriate materials to use it with. I am very pleased with what I've experienced so far, and can recommend both product and supplier without reservation. I am finding that SN100Ni+ is easier to work with - and less costly than Silver - for electrical jobs.”
