“Awesome lil soldering iron, so easy to use. I run mine off an old laptop power supply DC @ 19 volts.
So easy to change tips, I bought 4. I solder @ 340C to 355C so I have mine set to that.
Really comfortable to use for long periods of time.
Like the fact it goes into sleep mode & then when you pick it up it automatically heats up to desired temp without any hassle.
Price wise it is a bit on the expensive side but then the majority of items sold here are over the top.
Have found an alternative site online that sells sbc’s & other electronics at a way better price plus free postage.
The Pi Hut is losing out to other companies because they charge too much.”
“Nice and compact, heats up very quickly.
The boost function can be really useful when you come across that 'one' solder joint that needs a bit more heat.
I normally power it via USB-C, but the ability to power via a 2.5mm barrel plug will no doubt be useful, particularly as it looks like you can use 3S-6S LiPo battery pack for portable use.
I generally power the device from an Anker Nano 2 65W power adapter, unfortunately, the nice and flexible USB-C lead the iron comes with doesn't seem to be able to reliably pass enough current and the iron will regularly reset itself. A lower-wattage power adapter seems to work reliably but of course takes longer to get up to temperature. Replacing the supplied lead with one capable of passing a higher current and all works well.”
“It's a very well made portable soldering iron.
I feel it is a bit expensive for what you get. Make sure you have/ get the right type of USB C power supply and battery pack to go with it otherwise you won't achieve the higher power levels”
