“After purchasing a simple USB stick ADS-B reveicer including three types of antennas and getting very strange results, I figured I needed to do something. Probably by changing the antenna. After some searching, I found this antenna at The Pi Hut together with a 5 m antenna cable.
Receiving it was a joy - the package was promisingly heavy and clanked promisingly.
Eagerly, I simply installed the antenna in a suboptimal place close to my ADS-B pi, in the attic under cement roof tiles at ~30 degrees angle. Didn't matter at all... average distance went from some 10-20 km to 70 km and max distance from 40 km to a whopping 150 km. Wow!
Considering how well built the antenna is, I will in time move it up on the outside of my roof an have good hopes to expand my ADS-B reach even further.
