I bought this as a breakout board for testing code before putting the programs onto a Raspberry Pi Pico. The range of extras on the board means you get a lot of capability at a ridiculously low price. Entirely my mistake but I hadn’t realised that the board came with the Adafruit version of MicroPython on board. Once I had changed that over to the Raspberry Pi version of MicroPython, everything was perfect.

Have to say it's much smaller than I thought it would be, a bit bigger than a credit card, but that's the beauty of modern kit I suppose. The board comes pre-installed with circuitpython and a neat bling bling demo that shows off most of the boards features. I have used micropython on it for short while to prove a few things(to myself) but will actually use it for bare metal stuff. So much crammed in for the money, can't complain.

An ideal microcontroller for use with a simple robot. It includes most of the intrfaces to control a couple of motors, servos & sensors. An idea starter board if you want to get into robotics.

Brilliant piece of kit. Very easy to use. Daft as it seems, smaller than I expected, same size as the Raspberry Pi. Nicer in many ways than the standard pico with hats IMHO. Especially the servo motor outputs, never played with servos before, soooo easy. Can't wait to build a robot with them. One caveat, the USB cable used must be a good quality. I tried and failed with several "good" (working elsewhere) data cables, and was beginning to think my board was faulty, when I found one that worked. When I order my next Maker Pi board (soon), I will order a cable with it, just in case.
