“Well-priced computer with loads of incredibly helpful technical support. GPIO pins support a wide variety of experimental uses. Python is simple and accessible for beginners but powerful enough to do most tasks.
One downside is that you need to be resourceful in finding all of the necessary accessories (keyboard, mouse, monitor, sd card, case, etc.), but it is completely feasible to do all of this for a very low budget (”
“Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K was my first computer and it is still in mint working condition :-) Now I have a lot of other computers (home, notebook, netbook, palm hand, tablet) I bought Raspberry Pi model B 512MB RAM for educational purposes and it is working very well. It is really "hands on computer" little miracle and I like it a lot. I can learn computing on it without the fear to ruin setup or drivers, but anyway if that is the case it is very simple to flash again the SD card and start it again. This computer is the best buy for everyone who wants to learn computing. I bought mine from The Pi Hut along with some other RPI accessories and I was very pleased with fast and accurate service.”
“It's quick enough for simple desktop jobs, but for me, it works best as a low power Unix server. I've used it to test X applications, as an Apache webserver, a SQL database server, an SFTP file server, and as a Samba server, sometimes all at the same time! It's a great to refresh or improve your Unix knowledge, or just as a way to get some first time hands on experience.
And that's before I even get started on the hardware side of things!”
