“Great for a little media centre. It's very directional! Buttons have a loud mechanical click when operated. The power on/off works straight out of the box without any extra set up with the Argon One case. The other functions will only fully work in LibreElec, you maybe able to custom configure in other OS's. Will not work with LibreElec v9* as v10 and beyond do not use Python2. Argon have not updates their software to Python3, unknown if they will in future. Any potential buyer should be aware of this. Hence 3 stars.”
“Good build quality, only drawback is the lack of buttons.
If all you want is basic functionality, it is a good buy - not too expensive and good quality - but if you want more buttons, look at other options.
You can use any other remote that supports the NEC protocol at the same modulation (most of the cheaper ones do) and get more functionality.”
“I bought the remote for use with a Kodi install on raspberry pi OS lite. this did not work and should come as a disclaimer before buying. The issue was that the Lite pi OS doesn't come with a lot of the dependencies for installing the remote via the automated script, you'll have errors when trying to install while those errors don't actually tell you the issue.
When installed on the pi OS full install their automated script works fine. but it's worth noting that even so, the contextual menu button on Kodi (C on the keyboard usually) does NOT work even though it has the physical button. this is a deal-breaker for me as i still have to grab out my keyboard or phone app every day just for the one button. I'm sorry I do not recommend.
TL:DR; contextual menu button doesn't work in Kodi, deal breaker for me, don't recommend.”
