“The Argon case for the RPi4 makes it look fantastic. Adding an IR remote made complete sense. If you want to 'pimp your Pi' then this is an ideal choice to complement the Argon case.”
“This Raspberry Pi case removes two of the consequences of having a system on a credit-card-sized PCB. I love the RPi's tininess: I accept that this means having connectors on all sides and I accept the lack of an on/off switch.
However, mostly I don't need the tininess. Mostly I would be happy with just smallness.
The Argon ONE V2 case enlarges my Raspberry Pi from 'tiny' to 'small', puts all the connectors at the back, gives me an on/off switch and I can still see the LEDs through the case's front. Nothing is lost. In fact you gain a temperature-controlled fan and you can throw away all your short micro-HDMI to HDMI adapter cables.
You can also buy, like I did, a remote control so that my newly-encased RPi4 now sits out of the way and I get some desk space back.”
“Quality is not so good, not enough buttons, and click of buttons is not smooth... Working with argon one m.2 automatically with IR... Osmc remote is much better alternative...”
“The infrared on this is really bad. I can only get it to work (at a 6ft distance) by positioning the remote at a very specific angle.
It may be the receiving side on the case or the remote, either way its a really bad combination.”
“Great for a little media centre. It's very directional! Buttons have a loud mechanical click when operated. The power on/off works straight out of the box without any extra set up with the Argon One case. The other functions will only fully work in LibreElec, you maybe able to custom configure in other OS's. Will not work with LibreElec v9* as v10 and beyond do not use Python2. Argon have not updates their software to Python3, unknown if they will in future. Any potential buyer should be aware of this. Hence 3 stars.”
