“Well designed case for a RPi (4b), feels solid and looks good too. I'd highly recommend this case for the official 7" screen and a RPi (3, 4 or 5). The internal splitter cable means you only need one PSU for both.
Once again another faultless order from The PiHut.”
“I bought this to add a Pi Touch Screen to my 3B Home Assistant system. Assembly was pretty straightforward, although there were some instructions missing. I got to the point of screwing the back onto the front and thought, how does the power get to the Pi and display controller? The answer was to use the splitter cable, of course, but that was only described at the top of the page, not where you might be needing to plug it in. One tail is needed for each board and they are quite fiddly to get in place while the case back is being fitted. It would be better if this step was done before the stand is bolted on, as that particularly makes it difficult to plug the cable in to the almost-hidden display controller.
Another thing was the port blanking panels have numbers '1' and '2' moulded into the Ethernet port cut-out. '1' is for the Pi 2 and 3, '2' is for the 4. This is not mentioned in the instructions, so you might take a minute or so working out which is which and which way round they go. Hint: one side has rounded corners, the others are square.”
“Good solid case for 7" Touchscreen with Raspberry Pi - used for a Volumio set-up the adustable screen angle deals with the poor viewing angle of the official 7" Touscreen. Only negatives are fan noise for an audio set-up and no access to the SD card to try other confiurations easily.”
“Great case, plenty of space for extras but wish I'd got the deeper version TBH. Would be nice if the deeper back was avialable, but I managed to get a power supply card, Pi3b, GPS/GNSS hat and some other bits in here.
Nice that it comes with lots of optional bits, power splitters etc to properly support the screen and PI.”
“It's a great case for a Pi4 and a touchscreen but there's no facility for accessing the output from a DAC hat - neither the RCA connectors nor the headphone socket. The case has to be cut to allow this which is a shame. If you are thinking about this case with a DAC hat then get the large size case.”
