“Solid, well engineered build. You have to fit the RP in the base and the DAC board in the lid, which was a tight squeeze and took a fair bit of fiddling to get into position. I had one heart-stopping moment when I brought the two halves together, as I was effectively working blind and having to trust my sense of touch. One tip: use the four case corners as a grip point to ensure both halves are correctly aligned, and then gently but firmly squeeze. Praying to your god (if you have one) whilst squeezing is optional!”
“Not to the easiest to fit and leaves you very nervous pairing the pi in the base and the dac in the lid together.
A pain also taking out the headphone jack hole as this was paired with a highfiberry dac2 pro
Once constructed I hope to never having to take it apart again. it is solid though”
“Where are the b***% instructions. For the life of me I have figured out how the pillars and screws can go together to ensure the boards and case are securely fitted.”
“As others have said, assembly is a little tricky getting everything to align and final assembly is blind and a "wish and a prayer". However, it works perfectly after assembly. Despite being a metal case WiFi still works (for me).”
“Impressive build quality and relatively easy to install the DAC2Pro board in to. I love the feel of it and I feel secure knowing everything is fitted in well. I'm not a fan of plastic cases or "toys" when working on development projects of a specialist nature, so this was a great plasure to use and at a bargain price.”
