An original product, with a lot of examples and ideas of applications. A good start for discovering the voice recognition world with Google API and various hardware as Raspberry, motors, servos, etc. Good "paper" documentation !

My son was so happy he was able to get one of these before they were all gone. He put it together quickly and was amazed at how well it worked. Now he is so inspired to do other AI projects. He liked it so much that he bought another one when it came out again to give to his friends son who is just starting to learn to code. I'm sure this will inspire him as well.

For the price, it is a good bit of kit, excellent for the kids to learn with.

I expected something I could turn into a full fledged Google device. Now I have to make a better housing and develop more code to keep up with Google .

The google AIY project is easy to build and there are lots of AI related Code ideas online to experiment with voice control etc.

The only disappointment is that after following the instructions, the end product does not do the same as a google home device.

Very easy to assemble - no soldering required. The Google assistant is nice to play with. However, support for languages other than 'en-US' is still fairly limited. Unfortunately, this means that I even get a spoken weather forecast for our German town with imperial units (Fahrenheit, ...). Most of voices besides US English sound pretty awful. However, there are still some very nice features considering, e.g., self-programmed voice commands. Thus, the purpose I bought this kit for, controlling a robot by voice, seems easily achievable...
