“Bought this dc-dc converter to power pi mk3b+ in the event of mains power failure as it required 24/7. Delivered promptly without any instructions regarding input and/or output connections & nothing on the board to indicate which was which. Meter suggested common negative. A search on youtube provided the essential information. (fitted socket was 5V output connection).
Tested unit with 10*1.2 volt rechargeable cells which produced 5V unloaded output. However, when connected to Pi hunted on/off - possibly undercharged cells ? Cells replaced with Duracell and unit performed as expected. My next task is to combine Pi mains power unit with battery pack to make an uninterruptable power supply, Cheap and chearful - but it works...
