“This unit has the makings of a great heatsink, it has really good cooling potential, however... it comes with a small and useless adhesive pad that was not even able to hold the unit in place for a few seconds, mine also came without the backing on the pad and had clearly been previously opened and fitted by somebody else!
I cleaned the heatsink and processor with some IPA and fitted some custom cutted thermal pads and some thermal heat paste glue and stuck it permanently to my Pi4 = Now it really is what it should have been and it keeps the pi very cool. My only other observation is that the fan is slightly high pitched, it's not in any way silent, just keep that in mind. In my humble opinion, unless you have a specific use case for this heatsink, there are much better and easier to fit options.”
“Easy to fit and does a very fine job keeping the Pi cool. The only comment is the fan is quite fast and thus a bit noisy. I used a smaller, quieter case fan with little impact on cooling.”
“good at cooling, silent fan.
sticky doesnt stick if mounted on the PI 4 and the PI 4 is mounted to a 7 inch screen that is reclined back
I was using the PI and I heard this clonk sound. it fell off.
since then re-sticking the heatsoink back on only falls off 30 mins later.
upgraded to the Dual Fan Heatsink Case for Raspberry Pi 4 that bolts around the PI. that isnt moving an inch”
“Easy to fit working great at keeping my pi4 cool, only complaint if I have to find one was the thermal tape when taking the cover off to the sticky tape it pulled the thermal tape apart, so luckily the extra tape for the pi3 was fine and I was able to adapt it to fit.”
