Using as a standalone AIS receiver to Windows PC. Connected via serial ttl adapter (also from Pi Hut) which provided power and data connection via USB. It worked straight away, Goo receiver, works better with half-wave dipole (190 minutes to make) than with single-ended antenna. Excellent product at that price!

I purchased the dAISy to replace a USB RTL2832U style dongle. The HAT appears to be quite a bit more sensitive, in that it receives more readings and for further away. I have only been using it for a few weeks so cannot comment on long term reliability.

Wanted to upgrade my Marine AIS setup as I’ve been using a dongle and it looked messy spent the money on this one and it’s amazing. So easy to setup and use. I’ve gone with AIS Dispatcher so I can feed 2 sites, and also easily view a map of my receiving AIS locations. Worth the money.

dAISy HAT is a great bit of kit! I live by the coast and am fascinated by the ships that travel past - I could view them before on something like MarineTraffic, but picking up their signals directly somehow seems more exciting!

Shame it doesn't come with more antenna adapters out of the box but never the less will be spot on for my ais project
