“Brilliant little dual-channel AIS receiver. With a inexpensive Banten 1.2m VHF whip and PL259 to SMA adapter it started received AIS even with the antenna just propped up on my desk. As a bonus it fitted in the aluminium box I already had for my Pi 3 B+ (with a fresh slot filed for the RF connector - it looks really smart). I like that if you connect to the serial port and press escape, you can turn on debug and RF noise information to see a little more what is going on, and that there are LEDs that indicate message reception (long green flash) or rejection (red flash).”
“The AIS is working perfect and easy to install. Only negativ are the Taxes that I have been charged to caused by Brexit. For DHL charge for Tax handling plus Taxes I paid another 35€. EU costumers should punches items tax free in the UK.”
