I was an early adopter for this Gamepad, at first I tried to associate the controller with the Pi 3 via built in Bluetooth and didn't have any joy. However - the Q&A emerged and mentioned it's just plug and play and it really is but YOU NEED to plug the dongle in. After that, it is instantly recognised and works great. Tested on various Retropi images and works on everything.

I bought two wireless controllers recently and one of them is faulty (unable to power on). ThePiHut asked me to ship it from Australia back to UK however the delivery fee won't be refunded. The shipping fee is about A$20 (~£12) via Australian Post. There is no point in spending another £12 for a replacement. I won't recommend anyone to buy this if you are not in UK. :(

The controller is solid and works well, but it requires 3 batteries, and they do not last very long. So, all in all, this is a good choice if wireless is your priority, but otherwise consider a wired controller.

This was instantly recognised by my Pi, feels of very good quality and has made my Retro Pi gaming so much more enjoyable. A real bargain at this price too.
