A nice little addtion to a PiZero, easy to solder up but take care with the IC holder and chip its easy to bend the pins out of line when inserting into the board and the Ic holder. I use this mostly as a digital clock but there are plenty of tutorials to make it into a scrolling display such as messages, number of tweets, temperature and pressure readings if you have the separate sensors.

I obtained this in the recent sale and am really pleased with it. The instructions for building it were straightforward and I was able to get it running very quickly with the example code. Now all I need is to find a use for it!

The construction of the ZeroSeg was easy if a bit fiddly to carry out. The instructions are very clear and for a first timer this was an excellent introduction to soldering. I did make a few mistakes but nothing that was too difficult to overcome and I managed to complete the whole project in about an hour or so. I attached the ZeroSeg to one of my Raspberry Pi Zero W units and downloaded the application to program the display and had it up and running successfully within a few minutes running the demo program. I then took the example programs and created a scrolling display showing the temperature in various parts of the UK very easily. All in all this was a great product and I will be getting more for my other Raspberry Pi's to create a myriad of displays.

The kit is simple to construct and the instruction manual is very detailed with plenty of pictures to guide you step by step. The PCB and components are good quality. I found it great fun to build! Although there are links to obtain example Python code from github, I found it relatively easy to drive directly from the SPI interface in C. I am now using the 7 seg display to display high resolution time for a Pi Zero based 60kHz MSF time encoder.

Well, ZeroSeg is a solid product for that price. Properly packed in a nice PiHut bag. The problem is that I'm a complete newbie to assembling, thus ZeroSeg shows only 5s on the screen and Python example displays communicate error:D Reassuming, the product is nice and solid, but cannot
