This touchscreen just connects and goes - no fiddling around. And solid? Here it is mounted on a fork lift truck...

This case suits the screen perfectly, but it leaves very little room for GPIO expansion cards. It would also be nice if there was more room internally for attaching the short power lead between the screen and Pi that The Pi Hut sells (very short cable) or if it came with a splitter of sorts. The USB port on the screen control board is entirely encapsulated and although possible to fit a longer lead it doesn't look as nice. Feeding the Pi via the GPIO port occasionally brings a flash symbol (low voltage) up on screen. Using a Y-splitter cable and the same power supply everything works fine (powering both display and Pi). I would have liked to seen more space and also different mounting options as the USB plugs now come out the top, where as it would have been possible to mount it 90 degrees sideways it would bring the plugs out the side, allowing for a neater installation. Next case will probably be another one due to this, but for someone not having the same sort of needs that I have, this is a good buy.

I found the case to be excellent for holding the touch screen and despite appearances does have a way for air to escape (the back plate does not sit entirely flush with the housing, which is both functionally and aesthetically pleasing), however, due to (what I've read to be) a firmware update, the screen is upside down! This is easily fixed by adding "lcd_rotate=2" to the RPi's config.txt file but is still that little inconvenience that prevents me from being 100% happy with this case.

I received a Pi-Hut email asking for info on how the case mounts on a wall. I managed to delete this before sending a reply. Hopefully this "review" will help. If the rear cover (that covers the Raspberry Pi board itself) is not fitted it reveals two "inverted keyhole" type slots (one in each upper corner) that will hook over two screw heads about 75mm apart. This means that the overall depth will likely be slightly less than the advertised case depth as the rear panel is not fitted. Quickly using a ruler shows the depth to be about 42mm. The plastic of the "keyholes" is slightly raised above the rear of the main case and there are corresponding spacers in two lower corners. This suggests that when fitted to a wall there will be about 2mm gaps on all four sides around the Pi allowing heat from the Pi to vent out. Also it looks as if when mounted on a wall the screen will be parallel to the wall. Hope that helps.
