Great starter kit containing most components you'd need for this type of project. If I'm being critical, my only gripe is that the tyres are quite hard, so I find they just spin on most surfaces which can be frustrating.

We've had hours of fun with this kit. It's easy to get up and running because the online worksheets are really well written, and so you get immediate results. But then there's plenty more you can do to refine your software and improve the chassis etc. that is really rewarding. Only complaint - included line detector unit doesn't work (I really need to go back to the PiHut for a replacement).

I purchased five of these kits for a homeschool robotics course. Purchasing the kits was less expensive than purchasing each of the individual components. The box itself is fun, with cute quotes printed on the sides. Our students enjoyed opening the kits and studying the individual parts inside. With the exception of one of our kits, the packaging and parts were well thought out, and the parts were received in good working order. One of our kits had a collision avoidance sensor with bent pins, but nothing that could not be coaxed back into place. Our students have not yet completed a full robot, but are stepping through the online CanJam tutorials (this is an introductory class, after all). We plan to visit a fabrication lab during this week's class to have our robot chassis laser cut, and plan to have our robots fully assembled with basic operations tested during our next class. Overall, a great and fun value for the price!

I got the camjam edukit3 for my nephew and made a framework ready for him to assemble at Christmas. It has good sturdy wheels and motors and runs for ages on the 4AA battery pack. We used it with a pi zeroW running headless over ssh. We initially had it set up through the house wifi but later configured it as a wifi hotspot so he could use it away from home. The programs on the camjam website were easy to follow and considering this was his forst foray into python after having only used scratch previously, he took t it ok. Spelling mistakes in his typing being the biggest culprit for failures. The line follower was the most fun and the avoidance sensor was good too. Building it was as much fun as programming it.
