“The GPIO connector was confusing to configure. The pins are not marked and I just followed the Worksheet sheet and counted the pins to find the right connections. There should be a pin breakout guide that fits over the pins showing the pin numbers.
The diagram shows coloured wires which were very easy to follow. My kit came with a bunch of blue and black wires which didn't help with the construction of the project.
I didn't realise there was a right or wrong way to position the breadboard, my first attempt was to wire the project the wrong way round (silly boy).
The resistors are very fragile, I was surprised how fine the wires were. When the resistors were placed on the board the wires were difficult to see (perhaps I should have gone to SpecSavers)
Finally I have not coded using Nano before, it was very straight forward but I had to surf the Internet to get some additional information. It is an excellent kit and found it very interesting.”
“Purchased both CamJam EduKits for the purpose introducing my kids to the idea of tinkering with the Pi. The downloadable worksheets are very easy to understand and the selection of mini projects has inspired us to try building our own PiCamera based bird box with motion detection. I highly recommend these kids as a good place to start your Pi adventure!”
“Bought this kit for me but as soon as the kids got their hands on it they wouldn't stop going through the projects. Now they've done them all they're using the components to do all sorts of fun stuff.
I will be buying another.”
