“Really a poor hub. From the picture it looked bigger and stronger. The vertical configuration of the doors had seemed like a good idea. As soon as I put in the jack it is stuck. To be able to pull out I had to force it, now it does not work well because it does not make contact. Bad deal.”
“Compared to the other USB powered hubs I'd seen, this hub was better value and quality. I use it to power a Pi, plus WIFI adapter, bluetooth adapter, keyboard and mouse as well as an access point for storage devices. It's small enough to tuck behind the TV, with the PI without getting wires everywhere and annoying my wife.”
“Works OK under normal conditions, but AVOID BACKFEEDING with this hub, it will cause all kinds of issues. I get repeating keys, corrupt sectors on a USB HDD etc when backfeeding, a problem which goes away if I tape over the USB B Vdd line.”
“Needed a hub for a RaspBMC media centre setup to connect: a USB HDD, a couple of USB DVB-T tuners, USB keyboard + mouse, and have space for more in the future. Lots of misleading info about this online. An old hub I had already did not work, even with an external 1.5A power supply in addition to the power supply that came with the Pi.
This hub will power a Model B 512 RPi, from the hub USB connection and all the above items, so only one supply needed for the whole setup. All runs cool, highly recommended.”
