The herring is good quality. Shipped frozen and packaged individually ... we all love it.

Being a Dutch person who misses Maatjes Herring very much in the UK, I found this on the internet and thought to give it a try. Not holding up much hope, I was very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful quality of the herring, the lovely taste and the texture. They were absolutely delicious and needless to say, I ate 3 of the 4 I ordered immediately! I will certainly order them again.

Dear Sir or Madam I have received your parcel on time, thank you very much. Unfortunately, I have noticed that the top of the bags were slightly defrosted. There was plenty of ice at the bottom of the parcel but on the top of the fish were two empty white plastic bags. Don’t you agree with me that it would be better if you would cover the bags with the same ice mats that you have used at the bottom? Kind regards Kai

I've been craving these since living in Hamburg, where I could get a matjesbroetchen on almost any street. Unlike rollmops, they have a smooth, savoury and buttery smooth taste and they're a treat for anyone who loves fish. I'm eating them the original Dutch way, dipped into diced raw onion and then eaten without bread. Heaven!
