The sound is more detailed, the stereophonic placement more accurate, especially in linear mode.
the contribution of the adaptable equalisation is a real advantage that allows you to refine the automatic settings to your liking.
But, and it is very annoying when you are well equipped (Universal Audio + Focal), there is still this problem on the desktop version of the untimely cracklings which literally rot the listening. By switching to 96 khz I have drastically reduced the phenomenon.
It's not cool ! no problem in the DAW fortunately.
With the asio, it would be nice to be able to use Soundid to integrate vst's such as Studio session analyzer from Flux audio.
I'm also waiting for a lite version for the measurement which would allow in a few pulses to have an idea of the effect on the placement of the acoustic panels, the distance of the speakers with the wall... in order to optimize the setting up of the home studio equipment.”

“After good experiences with the studio version, I had made the update to SoundID Reference without hesitation. Unfortunately, SoundID ran on my new Windows 10 Pro computer only with problems and then in the end not at all. I uninstalled it and reinstalled Reference 4 Studio which fortunately works without any problems. Maybe I'll try it again in a year when it has a few patches behind it.”
“Honestly, the new version didn't add much extra functionality - but I knew that when I paid the extra fee. I do not like that they changed the name - it's confusing. Also - SoundID seems to constantly reset my system to 48000khz sample rate - which causes a lot of issues. Also - soundID and Sonarworks Ref 4 still seem to load despite the upgrade....this is annoying and I feel like this should be sorted. Do they share calibration files?”
“The only reason I haven't asked for my money back as yet is because I have been informed that a future update will allow me to install the Vst in a drive of my choice.
I haven't actually used SoundID yet as I am waiting for this update.”
“I own reference 4 studio and tried to upgrade to sound ID. I purchased what I thought was the correct upgrade path but your website said I couldn't use my license for the upgrade for some reason. Contacted customer service and have been waiting 2 weeks for a response. Would give 5 stars but customer service is everything.”
“Acquiring the 'Translation Check' has been worth the cost of the upgrade, which quite frankly, I was loathed to do at first - as with any plugin I already own and my wife checking every purchase! I no longer have to purchase a variety of lesser speakers, go out to my car, listen through earbuds, etc. An excellent and thoughtful upgrade!”
