I have used the Reference 4 for nearly three years and I love the result, being able to hear my productions as they should sound, no matter where I am. Expecting the same ease of use I was very much dissapointed after installing the SoundID upgrade. It take the GUI a couple of minutes to show the texts, while the background and audio signals are visible directly. I hva no idea why, and no response from the support yet. I've not had time to reinstall the upgraded software, but that is next in line. I assume, and hope, that this is a small, yet annoying, bug. Besides that, the audio experience is exactly the same and I still trust what I'm hearing when the software is working!

Mac OS Big Sur with SoundID Systemwide doesn't work well. When I was using it, it made glitch noise sometimes.

Defiantly an upgrade from Sonarworks Reference 4. I think it sound better and it has a lot more features. However I would much like a lot more headphone presets, VINTAGE loud speakers!! More studio monitors. FOCALS SM9 presets yamahaa HS8's?

It is “okay”. The translations arent sounding that real and still pretty underwhelming speed for delivering Apple Silicon support. The ARM Chips are the future, I don’t get why some companies are that slow with development

They say that the UX has got a major lift and it's true that it "looks" better but the UX is far from good. For example, you have to go into a submenu and select "Rename" to rename a preset instead of a double click on the name. Quite often companies mix the words "design" (as in looks) with UX (as in User Experience). The plugin doesn't save all parameters so saving presets for later recovery is a no-no.

Every time I unsleep my Windows I have to restart the sound engine otherwise there is no sound. Had the same problem with reference 4, had discussion with support for months but nothing came out of it. If I use the asio to asio driver with reaper it works at first, but after closing reaper I cannot move the driver type to windows virtual to asio. If I do it the SoundID process crashes. Additionally there are a lot of pops and clicks when the calibration is turned on. I'm on 256 samples buffer with latest ryzen3 which has substantial single core performance. Even if I turn the safety buffer to max the pops continue. The software is quite buggy, maybe it's better on MacOS, but for Windows the situation is bad. The room correction is very good if we don't count the bugs.
