“The only reason I upgraded is because you stopped support for reference 4 just as apple silicone was announced and 4 stopped working entirely on Sonoma. Disappointed.”

Unfortunately, Reference 4 is not supported natively for M-series devices. To run Reference 4 the Rosetta environment is required.
However, SoundID Reference, the successor to Reference 4, is natively supported.
